Settlement – $450,000.00 – Neglect at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly

Our clients’ elderly mother was suffering from dementia and other age related diseases. She was accepted to a residential care facility which billed itself as a high-end facility with special knowledge and training for dealing with memory impaired patients. While at the facility our client’s mother was neglected, not properly fed or watched. One night she fell out of her bed attempting to reach the bathroom and suffered a fractured hip. She had to be admitted to the hospital and unfortunately her health took a turn for the worse. She passed six months later.
By suing the care facility and taking depositions of their staff we were able to show that they lacked proper trainig and did not follow the care plan devised for our client’s mother.
